We have a bold vision of the future. We believe we can create a platform where families can easily find their perfect senior housing options and companies who run these businesses can focus on providing the best possible care without having to pay high referral fees.

Families have had a tough time finding the right options because giant companies who claim to have the families’ best interests in mind are really referral companies who steer them to corporate sponsors – it’s all about pay-to-play! Even though these referral companies say they are completely free to families, they usually charge about one-month of rent as a referral fee to senior housing operators. The operators then usually pass along the costs to families through higher rents. Everyone loses except the referral companies.

This problem doesn’t exist in many other industries like apartments for example. Imagine if internet platforms tried to charge apartment landlords one month of rent for placing a tenant into a regular apartment complex. The internet platforms wouldn’t be able to get away with high referral fees because there is more transparency in the apartment industry. That level of transparency doesn’t exist today in senior housing. So we assembled an advisory board consisting of the leaders in the industry to explore new ideas.

Collaborating with over 50,000 senior living and skilled nursing facilities is a monumental task. Plus, it may take a while for families to learn about our platform, so we came up with an innovative idea… let’s address a second massive problem in our industry first – the labor shortage! We developed a proprietary technology and process to increase the number of senior care workers and better match them with the right employment opportunities.

How does this help families search for their options? First, this strategy allows us to develop relationships with all the senior housing and skilled nursing operators which takes time. Second, by providing a cost-effective service that does not require behavioral change, we can shift our business model to help operators address their most urgent needs while keeping the search platform completely free for families and operators!

Unlike other typical job search sites, we are developing both a process and a platform to focus only on the senior housing and skilled nursing industry. We believe the best way to create efficiency is to begin with salary transparency and analytics so that operators can pay their employees in the fairest way possible!
