Description

The Activities Coordinator at an assisted living facility is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing a variety of engaging programs and events to enhance the quality of life and well-being of residents. This role involves assessing the interests and abilities of residents to create personalized and inclusive activities that promote social interaction, physical fitness, cognitive stimulation, and emotional wellness. Key responsibilities include coordinating daily recreational activities, managing budgets, maintaining activity supplies, and collaborating with other staff members to ensure seamless implementation. Responsibilities

• Develop, plan, and implement a wide variety of engaging activities and events tailored to the interests, needs, and abilities of assisted living residents.

• Coordinate daily, weekly, and monthly activity schedules, ensuring a balanced mix of physical, social, recreational, and educational programs.

• Facilitate individual and group activities, providing encouragement and support to maximize resident participation and enjoyment.

• Work collaboratively with nursing, dietary, and administrative staff to accommodate and support resident care plans within activity programming.

• Create and maintain an inviting and stimulating environment through appropriate decorations, themes, and materials for activities and events.

• Assess the effectiveness of activity programs, gathering resident feedback and making adjustments to improve resident satisfaction and engagement.

• Maintain accurate records of resident participation, progress, and any notable observations related to their well-being and interaction.

• Organize special events such as holiday celebrations, birthday parties, and themed activities, ensuring they are inclusive and enjoyable for all residents.

• Manage activity budgets efficiently, sourcing and purchasing necessary supplies, materials, and equipment within allocated funds.

• Foster relationships with local community organizations, volunteers, and entertainers to enhance program offerings and provide additional resources for activities.

• Ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations during activities, maintaining a safe and supportive environment for residents.

• Assist in the training and supervision of activity assistants, volunteers, and interns, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality program delivery.
