Description

A Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) working in an assisted living facility plays a crucial role in providing care and support to elderly residents. Responsibilities

  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency situations and provide appropriate interventions. Participate in emergency preparedness drills and protocols.

  • Resident Care Plans: Implement and follow individualized care plans for each resident. Participate in developing, updating, and evaluating resident care plans.

  • Coordination with Care Team: Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team, including doctors, physical therapists, dietitians, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate, precise, and comprehensive clinical documentation. Record all nursing interventions and observations in residents' medical records.

  • Support Residents’ Families: Communicate effectively with residents' families regarding their loved ones’ health status, care plans, and any changes in condition.

  • Training and Supervision: Train and oversee nursing assistants and other support staff to ensure adherence to care standards and policies.

  • Compliance: Adhere to all facility policies, state regulations, and federal standards related to healthcare and assisted living services.

  • Quality Improvement: Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement activities to enhance care services and operational efficiency.

  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing education and training to maintain licensure and stay current with nursing best practices and industry standards.
