Description

Registered Nurses (RNs) in assisted living facilities play a critical role in providing high-quality care and support to elderly residents, ensuring their well-being and comfort. They are responsible for assessing and monitoring residents' health conditions, administering medications and treatments as prescribed, and coordinating with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans. Responsibilities

  • Medication Management: Administer prescribed medications, monitor resident reactions, and maintain accurate medication records. Ensure adherence to medication administration protocols.

  • Care Plans: Develop, implement, and regularly update individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, residents, and their families to ensure the best possible outcomes.

  • Coordination and Communication: Collaborate with physicians, other healthcare professionals, and support staff to ensure cohesive and thorough patient care. Effectively communicate resident needs and any changes in their status.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely medical records, including daily reports, incident reports, and changes in residents' conditions. Ensure compliance with all documentation requirements and standards.

  • Resident Advocacy: Act as an advocate for residents’ needs and preferences, ensuring they are respected and met. Facilitate residents' physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

  • Education and Training: Provide health education and resources to residents and their families about managing illnesses and promoting healthy lifestyles. Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with nursing practices.

  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all health and safety protocols, infection control procedures, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe living environment for residents.

  • Support and Supervision: Supervise and mentor other nursing staff, aides, and caregivers. Provide guidance and support to maintain a high standard of care and professionalism within the team.
